Facebook Places has been released with BlackBerry for its latest version.

RIM and Facebook seemingly have updated their Facebook application for BlackBerry mobiles. Version 1.9.0.20 comes handy on the BlackBerry App World and can be installed on all BlackBerry handsets offering software of version 4.5 or higher.

The latest feature in the updated version of Facebook is the- `Places' - i. e., a location-based service similar to that of FourSquare and GoWalla.

Users can now easily keep a track of their friends and peers within a 2-kilometre radius of their location and their friends on Facebook at the same time can do the same.

Users can now comment or like their friends at various places with the aid of a Facebook Places icon on the top bar.

Along with the current feature, the previous features like updation of profile, poking friends and sending messages remain the same. The Facebook chat is expected soon in the future version of the app.
