Virgin Media HTC Desire gets Android 2.2 FroYo update

Virgin Media users soon shall receive their FroYo for Desire update.

Soon after the release of HTC Desire users on other networks were offered with the supply of Frozen Yogurt for their smartphones.

Virgin Media users are being bestowed with the Android 2.2, FroYo, update for their iPhone-challenging Google powered devices.

Virgin Media's Desire rivals are aiming to offer 720p video recording support, Flash Player 10.1 and also offer Wi-Fi hotspot features in their FroYo able handsets, exclusively for the latest Virgin firmware package.

The blog posted on the website stated: "this is only for customers on our Virgin specific firmware (1.23.351.1). Customers on the original firmware (1.15.405.4) will need an update to the 1.23.351.1 firmware first before they can install the Froyo update."

It came up as an FOTA (Firmware Over The Air) update which offers downloading updates on their handsets. It was suggested that one needs to make use of a Wi-Fi connection to download the update. And prior to getting the update the site asks for back up of your handset which comes as an obvious choice, as stated by the Virgin Media proclamation.

If any of our readers is a Virgin Media user and has been opting to get the FroYo for Desire update send us the comments on similar regard and feedbacks for the OS upgrade via the T3 Twitter and Facebook feeds.
