Hulu updates iOS app with new features, improvements and bug fixes

In a Wednesday announcement, online video site Hulu revealed that it has, as promised, updated its Hulu Plus iOS app, which now boasts several new features, bug fixes, and other improvements.

The version 2.0 of the Hulu Plus subscription service – which is free download requiring iOS devices that run iOS 3.2 or later versions - includes a split-screen player for the Apple iPad that allows users to keep browsing particular sections of the Website.

In addition, the update also includes an enhanced capability for the management of the users’ queue as well as their subscriptions. The updated version now actually displays the various shows that are not available in the app, with the information that users can only stream these shows on the Web. Earlier, the app showed only those programs that are currently available on Hulu Plus.

Furthermore, Hulu has also brought on some improvements in the playback performance; which, as per some brief tests over Wi-Fi, reflect impressive quality. Even the thumbnail behavior on the iPad has been changed, so as to allow users to select in the Settings app whether they want to tap once for info and twice to play; or tap once to play and press and hold for info.

Along with the several enhancements included in the updated Hulu Plus iOS app, the company has also patched a number of miscellaneous bugs.
