Though the video game industry has been doing better compared to many others in the midst of financial meltdown, and has also seen a rise in its sales graph; still there have been number of studios which had to be shut down.
It has been recently learnt that hundred of positions from its game division have been cut by Microsoft as its move to cut 5,000 jobs over the next 18 months.
The franchise which had to suffer the most is ACES, which is a wholly owned studio producing the venerable Flight Simulator franchise.
"ACES will be shut down but added that the company remains committed to the Flight Simulator franchise, though she would not provide details," reported a Microsoft representative on Friday.
