Virgin wants broadband speed honesty

Virgin Media ISP has released a petition to put an end to misguiding advertising of broadband connections.

It seems that Virgin Media knows very well to take a control over the controversial PR stunt. In addition to the above the firm has pronounced a marketing campaign so that users are not cheated with the dubious speeds offered by the other broadband services.

Virgin Media has went ahead and marked other advertised speeds to be dishonest and claimed that the average speeds of so-called "20Mb" services could only offer a mere speed of 6.5Mb.

Branson said, "Staying connected is central to our lives and we all deserve broadband we can trust. I'm challenging all broadband providers to be honest with their customers and ask people to add their voice to the campaign by signing up to Stopthebroadbandcon. org."

According to recent studies released by the ICM, nine out of ten customers seek the present type of broadband advertising misleading and 93 per cent of them wished it to be honest.

Meanwhile experts claim that the speed can be attained only by setting up of squat at the local exchange and at the same time plug gin it directly.
