Strong revenue was generated by AnnTaylor Stores Corporation for the third quarter of the year. The women's apparel retailer has also announced that it is expecting sales to further brighten up during the holiday season.
The Company has also announced that it was expecting sales for the current quarter to almost reach $500 million. Though, analysts have forecasted sales to reach $495 million as the organization had raised its sales expectations for the year.
The announcement has left investors a happy lot, as shares for the company surged by 9% to reach $25.89.
While talking about the development, the Chief Executive for AnnTaylor, Kay Krill while talking to Dow Jones Newswires stated that she had a positive vibe regarding the sales during the holiday season. She added that the sales for the quarter have been healthy and in line with the current inventory with the organization.
She further added that the organization was ready to ramp up promotions for the holiday season. The story of AnnTaylor is like a fairytale, as the Company's profits had dwindled two years ago. The economic downturn had led the retailer's main customers that are women, jobless because of which its clientele fell sharply.
Apart from AnnTaylor, other retailers like Talbots Inc. had also suffered immense damages because of the downturn. It was only because of wise restructuring and immense efforts that the company has been able to script this turnaround story.
