As the French President Nicolas Sarkozy is set to face a growing scandal over the charges of accepting kickbacks on the naval deals with Pakistan in 1990s, his popularity ratings has started to go up.
Nicolas Sarkozy, the French President whose age is 55, had hoped when he reshuffled the cabinet last week that this move will help him to turn the page of what has been a difficult year for him which started with the charges of accepting illegal fund for his UMP conservative party and the strong public protests against the pension reforms.
Also he is trying to use the France's one year's presidency of the G-20 nations, which started this month to push an ambitious agenda for reconstructing his popularity ratings in France as a platform to run for early 2012 presidential elections. After hitting on a low in October when unions led a strong protests against the pension reform, the popularity ratings of the French President has been up by 3 percentages at a survey which was conducted by the Ifo pollsters which was published in Journal du Dimanche.
