Strategic Funding Competition Announced By a Breast Cancer Society

The Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation announced a new strategic funding competition; up to $5 million of the money collected through that will be invested for breast cancer research in Quebec.

The Cancer Research Society will help setting a meticulous and transparent selection process with its expertise, in 2008, an amount worth $4 million was given to nine research teams.

The Foundation's grant program aims at funding world-class research projects carried out in Quebec universities and research institutes so that more methods to control the numbers of breast cancer cases and upgrading the quality of life of those living with the disease can be achieved.

Quebec researchers applying for the grants will be conveyed the decision on funding in October 2011. A funding worth $300,000 per year, per project will be provided that will depend upon the field of research.
