Aggreko Strengthens Its Foothold in North America By Acquiring Northland Power ServicesAggreko, a temporary power Company based in Glasgow has acquired a renowned power solutions provider for $26 million, which has boosted up its existence in North America.

With the acquisition of Northland Power Services in Wyoming, the employee strength of Aggreko in North America will surge to 800. On account of the news, its shares increased and closed at £15.55.

Northland works with the oil and gas industry and has its base in Wyoming, USA. The Company has projected its revenues of around $12m for the year 2010.

Aggreko also has its presence in Russia, Asia, the Middle East, the North Sea and off-shore Brazil as a provider of specialist power and temperature control services. The Company now focuses on the oil and gas market in North America and also across the globe.

"This acquisition gives Aggreko an opportunity to grow in an important sector and develop our relationships with customers in the unconventional oil and gas markets", said Rupert Soames, Chief Executive of Aggreko.

In 2008, Aggreko acquired Power Plus Rentals and Sales in Alberta that expanded its presence in the Canadian market. It provides services to production and exploration customers in the Gulf of Mexico, Texas and Louisiana in North America.
