Aretha Franklin, a 68-year-old American singer, songwriter and pianist recently underwent a surgery and is recovering in high spirits.
U. S. civil rights leader Jesse Jackson said that Aretha is "recovering and her spirits are high".
"She's doing very well. She's very prayerful. She's a woman full of deep religious faith," Jackson was quoted as telling the Detroit News after a private visit with Franklin on Friday.
Tracey Jordan, Aretha’s publicist said that no one is aware of the reason behind such a recovery.
Although Aretha Franklin didn’t disclose her nature of illness but after the "highly successful surgery" she seems to recover pretty early.
After she discovered her illness she canceled all her performances until 2011.
This famous singer has given a number of hits like "Chain of Fools" and "Respect". Aretha Franklin also made her appearance at the inauguration of President Barack Obama and gave an extraordinary performance at the event.
