With rumors galore that Verizon Wireless may finally get the Apple iPhone `early next year', a MacDailyNews report recently stated that the Verizon iPhone will probably support the carrier's high-speed LTE network for 4G data.

According to MacDailyNews, one unnamed `inside' source has revealed that Apple is probably ready to launch the much-awaited Verizon iPhone, and is merely waiting for its exclusivity deal with AT&T to come to an end.

Once the iPhone lands on Verizon, the carrier will reportedly market the handset as the "only" LTE smartphone.

However, MacDailyNews report differs from an earlier AppleInsider report, which noted that none of the Verizon iPhone rumors from the Wall Street Journal, New York Times or Bloomberg, talk about 4G capabilities.

Furthermore, a Fortune report has also already mentioned that even though Verizon's CEO Ivan Seidenberg assured Apple CEO Steve Jobs in 2007 that the carrier was rapidly building its 4G network, there still is no indication of a 4G Verizon iPhone.

Moreover, the much-rumored `early next year' launch of the Verizon iPhone does not quite fall in line with the carrier's stated plans for LTE smartphones. With the carrier having already said that it may not launch 4G handsets until mid-2011, the Verizon iPhone would have to be launched later than expected for MacDailyNews' rumor to pan out.
