Brazil, Soon To Become a Country of Obese Citizens

Health Minister Jose Gomes Temporao has claimed that Brazil will have highly increased number of obese citizens in the coming time due to the reason that people are consuming fatty foods and are following a sedentary lifestyle.

"We're sitting on a time bomb that could explode in the next 20 years," he said, according to media reports.

With the expanding waistlines the country is at greater risks of becoming the nation with high obesity rates and is also expected to overtake the United States in terms of excess weight and obesity over the next 12 years, he added.

President Dilma Rousseff has taken hold of a public awareness campaign in order to spread awareness amongst people regarding healthy living and diet. The campaign will promote a healthy lifestyle and to get the food industry to cut the levels of sugar and salt in their eating products.

Therefore, in order to avoid such a problem in future the country needs to act now.
