Nearly a year after having unveiled its all-new Focus model at the Detroit motor show, Ford recently announced the prices of the medium-sized family car, which is scheduled to hit the UK markets in March 2011.
According to the Ford announcement, the new Focus range will start with the £15,995-priced, entry-level, five-door 1.6-liter petrol ‘Edge’ trim with 104bhp; and a premium of £1,000 for the model’s 94bhp turbodiesel unit. The most popular trim level will likely be the ‘Zetec’, which adds 16in alloy wheels, leather steering wheel, sports-style seats, and Quickclear front windscreen, for a £1,000 premium over the ‘Edge’.
The cost of the Focus model’s ‘Titanium’ version, with the 1.6-litre 123bhp petrol engine, will be £18,745. The model will include features like keyless start, Hill Start Assist, rain-sensing wipers, dual climate control, cruise control, automatic headlights, and a Sony audio system.
The 1.6-litre 148bhp EcoBoost petrol ‘Titanium X’ version will begin with £21,245; and boast specs like heated part-leather seats, 17in alloys, Bi-Xenon headlights, electric folding mirrors, Active Park Assist.
The Focus prices rise to the ‘Titanium X’ £23,995 model – with a £1,100 extra for the model’s estate equivalent – which is a five-door unit with 2.0 TDCi diesel and Ford’s Powershift twin-clutch automatic gearbox.
All the Ford Focus models will certain ‘standard’ equipment including a DAB radio, electronic stability control, Bluetooth and USB connectivity, voice control, curtain airbags, Isofix child seat fittings, and the traction-boosting Torque Vectoring Control system.
