Loblaws Reopens After Flushing Out The Rodent Infestation

The Toronto Public Health has granted reopening permission to west end Loblaws, three days after it was temporarily shut down after a customer spotted a mouse in the store.

Public health department had closed the Dupont/Christie store on Monday on the pretext of “heavy rodent infestation”, caused by mice and rats in and around the store, which was quite evident from the rodent droppings in display and food preparation areas.

After the closing of the store the staff got busy in cleaning work and restocking all fresh food. On Thursday the store passed inspection test.

"Our food safety team reviewed all products in the store and ensured that any products deemed at risk were removed," stated the company in a press release. "Pest control processes and procedures were reviewed and enhanced."

"We would like to reassure you that Loblaw Companies is committed to providing our customers with a clean and safe store environment and offering products that are produced, sourced and handled responsibly," the statement read.
