Province of Ottawa Reports Second Case of Measles

Ever got yourself vaccinated against measles? Well if you did not, then the best possible thing for you to do before Christmas is to get that shot because two cases of measles have been confirmed in the Province of Ottawa. Apart from that people who are not sure whether they got their booster shots on time should also think about getting a jab as soon as possible.

Talking about the study, the Associate Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Nadine Sicard told the CFRA that the cases of measles were probably caused because of touch. Though, Dr. Sicard is quick to point out that a majority of the population was already protected against the condition because if previous exposure to measles and immunization programs.

She further points out that local transmission of measles is not as common in people living in Ottawa.

It also needs to be pointed out that the last outbreak of the condition had occurred around one and a half decades ago.

The first signs of this irritable condition usually start off from a moderate fever and then advance to a general malaise. Following the feverish bout a facial rash appears after which, the condition matures and affects the person.
