The meeting to find a healthy and mutual resolution between UK union unite and Heinz was considered extremely disappointing and a mere shuffle of deckchair on a ship. This promotes the chances of another certain and inevitable strike by the workers for ongoing dispute over pay.
In order to find an acceptable decision which is mutually beneficial to all, unite decided to have a word with Heinz yesterday but the outcomes were rather more souring.
According to statement issued by Heinz, it proposed a revised offer to union including the reinstatement of a performance-related bonus but unites showed a serious disapproval and rejected. The claimed a revision of offer as maintaining the deal was worth 4% this year and 3% next year.
Unite says that the offer wasn’t revised so they will continue strike after the disapproval as they are highly betrayed. They entered the meeting with hope and genuine commitment to resolve dispute but the situation seemed terrible. Unite wishes to resolve the dispute as quickly as possible as they held talks with management today morning.
As per as a statement issued by Jennie Formby, Unite's national officer for the food sector, Heinz must start considering the word of their workers to avoid any elevation and soaring of the strike.
