The 28-year-old pregnant Singaporean was travelling by Royal Dutch Airlines flight with her husband for holiday in Amsterdam. Vacations plan of the couple radically altered when the woman fell severely unwell. It was the day of Tuesday and while noticing the condition of the woman, pilots determined to make emergency landing in Romania.
Mr. Valentin Lordache, spokesman for Henri Coanda International Airport, told MediaCorp, that about 5:50am Romanian time, a message was sent to the airport to look forward to an emergency landing there.
The plane landed at 6:50am and the medical team was set in motion from the airport. The woman was instantly taken to Romania's Elias Hospital. The state of the woman was critical as she nearly had no pulse or blood pressure.
Medical persons in hospital found out that she was going through extra uterine pregnancy and to save her life they had to take out a part of her uterus.
Now the woman is out of danger and will be able to bear children in future.
Elias Hospital's Dr. Alexandru Filipescu said, "The patient is now feeling very well as compared to the state of shock when she was brought in yesterday."
Woman's husband said that they would stay in Romania for his wife to undergo medical watch if necessary, and would be spending holidays in Bucharest.
