The cholera outbreak in Haiti has resulted in a maddening frenzy in the country. Angry mobs have been killing voodoo priests in the nation by blaming them for the cholera epidemic. According to available information, till date 45 people have borne the brunt of this outburst.

In an appeal to the enraged crowds, the head of a voodoo group, Max Beauvoir has stated that people practising voodoo had no exact connection with the cholera outbreak. He has further requested the government to step in before these acts of inhumanity and brutality deteriorate.

The cholera outbreak had occurred in the month of October and has since affected thousands. The disease which spreads because of poor hygiene has since killed 2,500 people and is continuing to get worse. A lot of the slaughtered victims were first killed with the help of machetes, following which they were burnt in full public view on roads after pouring gasoline on them.

Out of the slaughtered people, 40 belonged to the Grand Anse region of the country.

Communications Minister, Marie-Laurence Lassegue has pleaded to people to calm down in these times of trouble. It has been announced that there were some people who had been spreading these rumors of magical healers being responsible for the cholera epidemic and that these things were absolutely baseless and wrong.
