Chrysler Group stated that it was conducting three recalls. In the first recall twenty two thousand Dodge Ram trucks from the 2008-2011 model years with steering problems are covered. In the second sixty five thousand 2009 model year Dodge Journey SUVs are involved for fixing side air bags that might not deploy.
The last recall involves about fifty seven thousand Ram fifteen hundred trucks from the 2011 model year in which components in rear axles might cause the trucks to stall.
Ford Motor Co. is also recalling some 2011 model year Ford F150, F250, F350, F450, and F550 pickup trucks along with 2011 Lincoln MKX crossovers and Ford Edge to tackle possible electrical shorts that could lead to fires. Chrysler is expected to begin its recalls in February. Ford's should start by Jan. 10.

Chrysler Group recalled almost one hundred and twenty one thousand vehicles in as many as two recalls today in which the 2009 Dodge Journey crossover and the 2011 Ram 1500 pickup is involved, as stated by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
The recall of sixty five thousand one hundred and eighty Dodge Journeys had been for defective wires in the front-door wiring harness that might break over time, in some vehicles. The wiring failure could deactivate the side air bag sensors and disable the side bags so they would not get deployed in a crash.
Chrysler stated that no reports on crashes fires or injuries had reached them, due to the wiring problem. The airbag warning light on the dash would alert the owner if the side air bag is not functional. Owners will be given notice in February and the wiring harnesses in the front doors will be replaced by dealers.
