Recent report claims that there has been an increase in number of deaths in Haiti from the cholera epidemic which was affecting the poverty-stricken country since mid-October. The list has grown over to 3,333, as per the health ministry on Friday.
Recent reports stated that the bulletin released on the ministry's Web site, the deadly disease has affected 148,787 people, out of which 83,166 were hospitalized, though 80,962 have been subjected to medical attention.
Cholera, which has been completely erased from Haiti apparently has reappeared in October, at the same time has made its presence felt in all ten of the country's provinces and to the neighboring Dominican Republic, where 139 people seemingly have been affected, though no deaths have been reported.
Reports state that the severally affected province is Artibonite, where 828 people have died, followed by Nord recording 558 deaths, Oueste including the capital with 461, and Grande'Anse with 433.
People are still looking out for the origin of the disease, but according to a French medical study it was stated that the Nepalese soldiers who took part in the U. N. Mission for the Stabilization of Haiti, or Minustah, had spilt human waste from their camp into a river where the Mirebalais residents intake their water from.
