Man to Lose 70-Pounds before February

A man from Hamilton has decided to face up to his obesity demons and lose around 70-pounds prior to his wedding in the month of October this year. The person in question Dan Carrol, who will be blogging his entire experience, while being filmed by his brother.

The 29-year old says that prior to weighing in at 267-pounds, he happened to be an athletic youngster, who played baseball, hockey and football. However, several sports injuries and a job later, he just ended up putting on the extra pounds. Carrol says that he just got caught with work and became lazy after work.

The problem of obesity being faced by Carrol is a quite common problem in Canada. However, what really sets him apart from the rest is that he actually has the courage to face his quandary.

Apparently, a recently conducted research by CBC News had found that a lot of Canadians did not accept the fact that they were obese, even though, medically it was easy to prove that they were far heavier than the normal weight.

Dr. Arya Sharma from the University of Alberta informs that around 44% people in the survey admitted that they were overweight, while another 7% said that they were obese. Whereas, the overall rate of overweight people in Canada was 66%.

Apart from that around three-fourth people said that they lived a healthy lifestyle, though it was absolutely false.

Well, let's hope that a lot of people for better health start facing up to their problems and do what Carrol is doing.
