Italian study proves vegetables and olive oil good for heart

According to a study which was conducted by the Italian researchers, olive oil and green leafy vegetables make the heart healthier and reduce the risk of heart diseases in women.

The study report said that the women eating more olive oil and leafy vegetables are extensively at lower risk of cardiovascular diseases in long time.

This study supports the recent study which also proved something of the similar sort. It said that the Mediterranean diet which contains rich green vegetables, dry nuts with the salads of olive oil dressing can greatly protect people from heart ailments.

This study was published by the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition. It observed the eating habits of the women. It came out that the women consuming the vegetables with one serving per day are 40% less in the row to develop heart problems as compared to those who take less than 2 servings per week.

Same was the result for olive oil as it was found that the women taking 3 or more tablespoons of olive oil have 40% less risk to have any heart related issues.

However the study found no support for the fact that the high fruit consumption also reduces risk of heart diseases which was found by many studies earlier.
