Toshiba is reportedly coming up with its 10-inch Android `Honeycomb'-based tablet computer, which is scheduled to hit the markets in the first half of this year.
The key features of the Toshiba tablet include an NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core processor with the capability of 1080p video decoding, smooth Adobe Flash support, and an integrated HDMI port for full resolution video output.
Though the price of the tablet has not yet been disclosed, it is being speculated that it will be nearly the same as the market-leading Apple iPad. Moreover, quite like the iPad, the Toshiba tablet boasts a glass-covered screen, capacitive, LED-backlit, and support for multi-touch as well as accelerometer screen reorientation.
The screen resolution of the forthcoming Toshiba tablet has been set to a 1280 x 800 resolution, fixed at a 16:10 aspect ratio. In addition, the device will also have a Haptic feedback touch screen keyboard and two cameras - a 2-megapixel front-facing camera; and a 5-megapixel camera at the back.
Moreover, the Toshiba tablet also has dedicated ports - for HDMI, full-sized USB, mini-USB sync, and SD card expansion - along with some other standard features like GPS, 802.11n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, stereo speakers, digital compass, and a removable battery.
Though it is still not clear whether the Toshiba tablet will have the official Google App Market support; reports say that Toshiba will provide its own app market for the tablet, and a BookPlace storefront for e-books.
