Bringing Intel's latest processing technology - the `Sandy Bridge' processors - to serious gaming, high-end custom gaming machines-maker CyberPower Wednesday announced that the company's newest models and custom configurations will feature the Sandy Bridge processors.

With the Sandy Bridge processors - Intel's newest generation of desktop and mobile processors - boasting the ability to offer notable enhancements in processing power and efficiency than the iSeries chips, CyberPower will essentially harness these capabilities for providing high-performance gaming with processing power to spare.

According to the announcement by CyberPower, the first models that will incorporate the new processors include the Gamer Xtreme 1000, 2000, and 5000; as well as the company's Xplorer series of gaming notebooks.

The first of these new models - the Gamer Xtreme 1000, which will start at $599 - was unveiled by CyberPower at the CES on Wednesday. Gamer Xtreme 1000 uses Intel's i5-2300 processor on a water cooled Asus H67 motherboard; and features a sizable 1TB hard drive that offers sufficient storage space, and 4GB of DDR3 memory to make it a snappy system.

Meanwhile, other than the Gamer Xtreme models and Xplorer series, CyberPower has also disclosed its intentions of bringing the new Intel Sandy Bridge processors to its Infinity model line and its custom hardware configurations.
