On Wednesday, Samsung unveiled its slim new smartphone – the Infuse 4G, which apparently is AT&T’s first 4G handset – at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.
Giving the CES attendees a skinny on the high-end Samsung Infuse 4G, Omar Khan, CSO of Samsung Telecommunications America, said that the handset was “the thinnest phone in the AT&T portfolio.”
The statement by Khan implies that the Infuse 4G is comparatively slimmer than the iPhone 4, which, when launched last summer, was described by Apple as having the thinnest-ever form factor.
The svelte new Samsung Infuse 4G, which runs the Android 2.2 version, boasts some highly attractive specs, including its 4.5-inch Super AMOLED display; a 1.2 GHz Hummingbird processor; an 8-megapixel rear camera; and a
1.3-megapixel front camera for video conferencing.
The device, scheduled for a later this year launch, will run on AT&T’s 4G HSPA+ network.
Meanwhile, in other Android news, Samsung also used its CES event to make a mention of the company’s forthcoming Galaxy Player; a potential iPod Touch-challenger. The Galaxy Player is a Google-certified personal media player that will run the Android OS 2.2 version – and, to put it differently, the Galaxy Player will essentially be a Galaxy S smartphone without the phone!
