Earlier this week, Renault SA dismissed its three managers for violating the Company's privacy code of conduct by releasing certain information about its electric car program, thus putting Company's assets at risk. Chinese interests have been suspected behind this spying case.
As per a person familiar with the matter, the Company could also launch criminal case against the three employees for breaching confidentiality. He added that as the French Government has 15% in the Renault, so it is paying attention to the case and has started investigations into it after learning that Chinese interest could be behind the espionage.
No information could be achieved on Friday that the French Government has doubted Chinese Companies or individuals. Also, Renault has not lodged compliant with authorities and identities of the three employees have not been disclosed.
One of the expelled employees, Matthieu Tenenbaum has appeared over the scene. His lawyer, Thibault de Montbrial told that he was shocked about the recommendation of spying and his client was thrown out without informing and giving any explanation.
Also, it is not known that what part of the information about technology has been leaked. The hallmark of the electric vehicle is its battery and other electronic parts that make it drive longer after getting charged. Renault has refused to provide details on the case.
