At the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, Acer introduced two attractive new budget-range smartphones – the Liquid Mini, and the BeTouch E210 – which garnered a lot of attention from the attendees at the event.
The handset which was really well-received at the event was the Acer Liquid Mini, which features a 3.2-inch touchscreen display; a 5-megapixel camera; and 512MB of RAM. The handset, powered by a 600MHz processor from Qualcomm, also boasts Wi-Fi, GPS, and Bluetooth.
Quite similar in style to its bigger predecessor, the Acer Liquid Metal smartphone, and aimed at the younger users, the compact new Liquid Mini will also boast Facebook and Twitter apps. The phone – the pricing and the release date of which still remain undisclosed - will be available in five interesting colors: Silver, white, blue, yellow, and pink.
Meanwhile, the new Acer BeTouch E210, which also runs Android OS 2.2, features a 2.6-inch screen; 3.2-megapixel camera; 416MHz ST Ericcson processor; a QWERTY keyboard; 256MB of RAM; 512MB of ROM and trackpad; along with Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth capabilities.
Though the new BeTouch will likely be released in the UK earlier than the Liquid Mini, the price of this handset has also not been confirmed. However, as per the speculations making rounds, the BeTouch would probably be released in the UK in March, while the Liquid Mini will be launched a month later.
