The Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc - the company's newly-unveiled model of its Xperia lineup - is apparently one of the best handset offerings that the company can come up with in the present times.
As the name itself suggests, the ultra-thin Sony Xperia Arc maintains the curved all-touch form factor of the company's Xperia line; and, this time round, the new handset measures barely 8.7mm at its thinnest part.
The new Xperia Arc, which runs the Android `Gingerbread' version, boasts a4.2-inch FWVGA, 24-bit, mineral glass touchscreen; a second-generation 1GHz Snapdragon chipset with an integrated Adreno 205 GPU; and the Sony Mobile Bravia Engine.
The Arc's screen, called `Reality Display,' will essentially improve the image quality for the handset, along with bringing around noise reduction, sharpness control, color management, and contrast improvement.
While the Arc's specs highlight the handset's ability for improved `on the go' gaming performance of Android games, it is worth noting that the phone also comes pre-loaded with Android Market for over 100,000 downloadable apps, games and widgets.
Moreover, the Xperia Arc also features Bravia Link for converting the handset into a TV remote control; and a new pre-loaded Facebook app. The phone has a 3G icon at the top of its screen, and it also supports 4G HSPA+ networks where available. In addition, the 1500 mAh battery of the handset is capable of giving the users up to 7 hours of talk time.
