Archbishop Blasts Out at Sexual Abuse Perpetrators

People attending the weekend mass at churches across the Milwaukee Archdiocese heard a recorded message by the Archbishop Jerome Listecki. In the recorded message, the Archbishop explained people about the reason behind the financial reorganization of the diocese.

He further apologized to the victims of separate cases related to sexual abuse by the men of clergy. He further blamed the very perpetrators behind sexual abuses for the reorganization of the diocese. He added that their actions were in complete contrast to how a priest should behave and what the church believed in.

The application for a financial reorganization under the Chapter 11 of the Federal Bankruptcy Code was filed by lawyers representing the archdiocese on Tuesday. Listecki further did not provide any excuses regarding the acts committed by clergymen on the innocent victims.

The very sound of his message was very blunt and full of anger towards the guilty. He said that any discussion, punishment to the guilty will fall short of the suffering that was endured by the victims of abuse.

The Archbishop also informed that the reorganization will not affect all the bodies under the church. He said that only the archdiocese will be affected, whereas schools, catholic hospitals will remain to function as before.
