Mitsubishi UK announces 13 nominated dealers for i-MiEV

In a move that marks Mitsubishi Motors' attempts to work out adequate support for the UK roll-out of its first mass-produced electric car - the i-MiEV - the company recently announced that it has nominated 13 dealers for selling the new compact electric car and providing after-sales service.

Mitsubishi specified that the nominated dealers for the i-MiEV (Mitsubishi innovative Electric Vehicle) will become fully functioning this month; with each of them having 2 fully trained sales personnel in the i-MiEV. The company added that the approved i-MiEV dealers will also have a more comprehensive understanding of future Mitsubishi pure EV and plug-in hybrid technologies.

Talking about the nominated dealers, Lance Bradley, managing director of Mitsubishi UK, said: "We are more than confident that our carefully selected 13 Mitsubishi EV Centres will provide excellent service and be able to offer the best advice to our retail and fleet customers."

In addition to the announcement about its nominated dealerships, for the new Mitsubishi i-MiEV (Mitsubishi innovative Electric Vehicle), the company also said that all of its 118 sites will also be able to offer servicing for the zero- emission vehicle.

According to Mitsubishi, the new i-MiEV will be available to the UK customers for £23,990, which will include the £5,000 government subsidies for buyers of electric cars - a decision that became effective from the beginning of the year.
