An Asian group has accused Disney teen idol Miley Cyrus of mocking Asians by posing slant-eyed for a personal photograph with her friends.

A picture of Cyrus, 16, the star of Disney Channel's 'Hannah Montana', and friends, including her 20-year-old boyfriend Justin Gaston, has surfaced on the Internet, showing them posing with an Asian friend and pulling their eyes sideways to get a slant-eyed look.

The singer-actress has been called upon to apologize by OCA, a national organization in the States that is dedicated to advancing the social and political welfare of Asian Pacific Americans, calling the snapshot as one that 'falls within a long and unfortunate history of people mocking and denigrating individuals of Asian descent'.

OCA's Executive Director George Wu in a statement issued on Monday says, Miley Cyrus and friends in the photograph, not only encourages and legitimizes offensive and stereotypical taunting and mocking people of Asian descent, she also insults her many Asian Pacific American friends.

Cyrus, one of the biggest teen stars in the world also apologized to fans last year, for appearing wearing little but a satin bedsheet in a photoshoot for Vanity Fair photo, including coming under fire in 2008 for personal pictures that show her in her underwear.

Her representatives did not immediately return calls for comment on Tuesday.
