After the news of a worker being Hepatitis A positive, at Vancouver Island Wal-Mart, The Vancouver Island Health Authority is recommending strongly to all the customers to get a vaccination.

If you have shopped between December 30 and January 10 then you must get immunized against this viral disease. For some cases it may be too late.

People shopping for ready-to-eat food, meat or cheese slice and open food products must ensure that they get vaccinated and observe the symptoms.

For store employees and affected customers, there is immunization provided at island saving centre on Friday, free of cost between 10 am to 2 pm and on Saturday between 10am to 6pm. The left over food from this store must be thrown but the packed products are safe, including the Mc Donald's restaurant.

Some of the possible symptoms observed in patients could be vomiting, fever, fatigue, loss of appetite, nausea and dark colored urine with light colored stools turning to jaundice.

This liver infecting virus is found in bowel movement of patients passed on by closed intimacy with infected person of by food served. Majority of patients are observed been recovered in a month or less but many patients take years.
