UGE Comes Out with Hybrid Street Lights

A New York City based venture that produces small wind turbines has recently developed an intriguing form of streetlights. Apparently, the new innovative invention uses both solar and wind energy, and is a hybrid between wind and solar energy technology.

The new device will be manufactured for highways and parking spaces.

The Company responsible for the creation of the product named Sanya is Urban Green Energy and has produced lamps, which can store energy that can last out for a period spanning five-days.

Streetlights will use the conglomerate's very own wind turbine that can produce up to 600-watts of energy. It will also consist of a steel tower, solar panels, LEDs, lead acid batteries and controls for switching on and off.

The products will be partially manufactured in the US and China. They will be capable of providing different shades of light every time.

It is being expected that the innovative new product might take out a decent bite out of the business being done by utilities. Though, at the end of the day, what should be seen is that the product will help in providing savings to the country overall, while further expanding the green industry.

Meanwhile, it has been announced by utilities provider, Progress Energy that it will cancel power supply to Fayetteville in North Carolina, if the town does not pay up its pending bills amounting to $100,000.
