J&J Recall’s 47-Million Units of Drugs
Johnson & Johnson

American corporate giant Johnson & Johnson has announced a recall of 47-million units of medicines on Friday. The recall is the latest among many such similar actions that have been announced by the Company.

The reason behind the new move has been stated to be a result of a review regarding the historical production data of the organization. The evaluation of records was a result of previous recalls that had been implemented by the organization. It is currently planning to carry out further such reviews in order to improve practices being observed in its manufacturing locations.

The organization has further indicated that if further issues are raised at sites, it will action more such recalls.

According to the official data released by the New Jersey based conglomerate that specializes in many sectors, it is currently recalling 42.-million bottles of Tylenol, Benadryl, Sudafed and Sinutab. All the products were being sold in the United States, Brazil and the Caribbean.

The tainted products were being manufactured at the McNeil Consumer Healthcare Plant, Fort Washington. J&J has blamed lax in cleaning of machinery for the recall.

The Spokeswoman for the McNeil Consumer Healthcare Plant, Bonnie Jacobs, informed that the manufactured goods did not suffice the USP needs of their brand. Though, the organization has voluntarily recalled products for quality problems, but, it needs to be kept in mind that profits for the Company will suffer drastically.
