LG: G-Slate tablet will be available in several variations in the UK

According to a recent Pocket-lint report, LG Electronics has hinted that its new G-Slate tablet device will be available in a number of variations when it hits the UK markets. The G-Slate, which runs the Android `Honeycomb' version, was launched in the US by LG with T-Mobile at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas earlier this month.

Though the T-Mobile G-Slate is a 4G device, James Choi - marketing strategy and planning team director of LG Electronics - explained about the variations of the tablet for the UK saying: "For the iPad you have the Wi-Fi version, the 3G version, different kinds of versions. I'll put it to you this way, even if the 4G version isn't in the UK..."

However, about a specific release date for UK release of the G-Slate - the tablet is currently not available outside of the US -, Choi merely said: "That information isn't available yet."

Further adding that the first release announcement of the G-Slate was "for the Americas," Choi said that LG will "pretty soon" make another announcement.

Despite the fact that Choi stopped short of any further elaboration about the G-Slate's launch in the UK, it is being speculated that an international version of the tablet may be announced at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next month.
