The Vancouver Sun web team has invented a new online gallery of maps which are able to show the bed bugs' location in Metro Vancouver, according to the Bed Bug Registry.
Bed bugs are an ever-increasing problem for the people from Nashua to Berlin.
Mr. Gary Nielsen of J. P. Pest Services in Milford said that the problem with bed bugs has increased quite rapidly in the last 5 years' time. The number of services they had to attend was about 10, which has gone up to 300 last 2 years. This is something really striking.
He added, "We need to come up with a New Hampshire solution, not rely on other states," he said. "This will help protect our tourism and travel industry."
He told the House Health and Human Services and Elderly Affairs Committee yesterday that they are having discussions about the steep rise in the numbers.
The Committee is considering HB 75, a bill which would establish a state level commission to have an investigation of the issue.
Ms. Debbie Valente, President of the New Hampshire Property Owners Association, said in a statement, "It is in no landlord's interest to have bed bugs in his or her building. We handle the problem because we will not have tenants if we do not take care of it."
She didn't forget to mention that the current law requires the landlord to bear the cost of any pest control treatment if the bed bugs are found in more than 1 apartment.
