Sacked Nurse to Sue Hospital after being accused of Viewing Tiger Woods’ Medical

A nurse, who was sacked from his job for unauthorised access to the medical history of golfer, Tiger Woods has filed for a defamation suit against his previous employers. The man in question is, David Rothenberg, who is seeking a compensation amount of $400,000.

Apart from the monetary compensation the nurse has also asked for reinstatement in his previous role and a letter by Health Central, which clarifies that he had never gone through the medical records of Woods. The case date back to the time when Woods was wheeled into a hospital in Orlando, where the nurse was employed.

According to the allegations made on Rothenberg, hospital authorities had accused the medical professional of viewing Woods' details for a period spanning ten minutes. However, the nurse, in his defence has maintained that he never viewed details regarding Woods and that he had stepped away from his terminal regarding some other work when the incident had taken place.

Meanwhile, the Ococee Hospital has requested the court to make proceedings regarding the case private. It needs to be remembered that the incident had coincided with the sex scandal involving Woods way back in November 2009.

Talking about the current case, the Attorney for Rothenberg, Michael Gort, informed that his client had filed this case to get his name cleared. He further blamed the hospital, as it had failed to keep its patient information system secure.
