A flu epidemic has alarmed the officials in Moscow. With the recent confirmation given by Health officials, hundreds of kindergartens and schools are being closed, so as to avoid furthering of flu infection among the young kids.

Though there is an apparent low attendance in the schools, most of the kindergartens and classes above the 9th standards were reported to be working, in the same manner.

With more than fifty percent of the total Muscovites reeling under the flu or respiratory infections, being children, the health officials have assured people of appropriate medical attention in the wake of recent upsurge in the epidemic.

The local administration official reportedly ordered to close the industrial Ural city of Chelyabinsk and Russia's northern Far East town of Yakutsk, in order to curb the epidemic. Though two deaths have been reported, so far, the officials have appealed people to maintain calm.

Amidst this crisis, the researchers have blamed the global fears of swine flu, bird flu and SARS outbreaks, as the potential cause of this panic .Since there is no statistical evidence supporting the exact cause of death, the officials have expressed the probability of normal flu or respiratory infection.
