Software Update Released for Nook Color Device

A brand new software update has been released by Barnes & Noble for their Nook Color device. This update brings with it, an enhanced performance, better Wi-Fi connectivity and an added ability to pinch and zoom in the web browser.

And in spite of all these improvements the updated version 1.1.0, is deemed by B&N as ‘minor’. The firmware will soon be made available to one and all. Also this update coming up in the next few days would be an automatic over-the-air download.

The features available in this update comprise of improved performance of Wi-Fi connectivity, Home and Shop, ability to pinch and zoom in browser and an enhanced reading experience for magazines and children’s books.

Reduce mistyped passwords with ‘show password’, option during registration and Wi-Fi set up, besides easily identifiable Nook Kids ‘Read To Me’, books with a new text banner next to the titles in Shop, are some of the additional features.

The new default browser home page also offers an easy access to the helpful Nook Color-related information and support tips.
