Sudden outages to prevent total blackout outraged citizens

The grid operators of the Texas electricity grid announced on Thursday that the blackout that affected the city severely is finally over and that the interruption in the supply of power was due to coal plant failures. They said that they are currently trying to find out what went wrong which lead up to such a power debacle in the city.

The Electric reliability Council in Texas though saved the state from suffering total black out by initiating a policy of rotating outages on Wednesday across the state. This was very surprising for the consumers and they had irritating feel about the same.

Trip Doggett protecting his employees said on Thursday that they were just following the laid protocol. He also added that he shares the pain the citizens suffered and that the communication policies need a revision along with the power plant regulations.

Doggett said that what happened though unfortunate was just an occupational hazard in the electric industry profession. He said that the events often present challenges in the communication pointing out the flaws. He said that understood around 5 a. m. in the morning that if the load wasn’t reduced then the whole security of the grid could be compromised. He said that receiving the news they were quick to react and just after 9 minutes of the information they send notice of the issue. He admitted that the communications needs to improve but at that time the suddenness of the event proved to be too big a challenge for the broadcasting system to handle.

The fact was that more than fifty Texas power plants ceased working on Tuesday and the day after due to cold weather conditions which included a number of coal fried plants. The outages were thus implemented and the earlier announcement was that it can continue till Thursday, but fortunately the conditions improved faster restoring normal supply.
