DRM-friendly Copyright Law

The Government in the Great White North introduced an exceptionally DRM-friendly copyright law and “Don’t Make Me Steal” link, is most appeared pop up. Recently, a contract software development for heavy media app, DRM, was completed.

One can realize the real worth of endless and futile effort involved in it, only after actually working on a software project loaded with DRM. Building or dealing with the DRM, takes maximum time in the whole project and rest of the total effort did not go into making a killer app. In the same way, Sony spent immeasurable hours and dollars on CD root kit sand and inexpert PS3 coding did not made good products.

DRM is only preferred by manufacturers, publishers, producers, and copyright holders because DRM is twisted point of media world.

Whole net is loaded with various arguments supporting copying range from “intellectually lazy” to “wilfully delude”. Those who make their basic living from their work, they ought to perform better than those who do it as a hobby. Anonymity is creator’s first enemy, but that does not make piracy, a friend. All these arguments indicates that those in favour of piracy wants an artist’s years of hard work, but they don’t want to make any meaningful reward for it.

It’s stressful to say that the Pirates are on the better side. It makes never ending innovation and progress. But there is confusion to as whether widespread piracy or the endless and futile attempt to safeguard DRM is worse. Sardonically, Apple refuses to sell DRM-free books. But there are lots of people who does not download anything from pirated sites and always go for paid and genuine data only. Sooner or later, defenders of DRM will have to make use of piracy.
