This week, Everblue training, an environment education startup, has been authorized by Accrediting Council for Continuing Education, US, a group that verifies the worth of non-collegiate, continuing education and professional training programs. It’s Principal and co-founder is Jon Boggiano and it has its offices in Berkeley, Calif. and Charlotte, N. C.
Jon said that this approval has facilitated his business to provide various services including, educating Government veterans’ to adapt to civilian life, big companies that certify their employees in diverse environmental topics, professionals or students utilizing Government grants and loans for education.
Both, Jon and his brother Chris are veterans, and are focused on making U. S, a self regulating company in energy, and to train the domestic personnel to remain technologically competitive. Prior to this venture, they also gave coaching to aspirants of GMAT.
It provides both class-room and online courses to about 25,000 students, every year and has about twenty full-time employees, and fifty contract instructors. Maximum number of students in classrooms belongs to those who design for communities, such as, architects and municipal officials. In 2010, 5% students used online services and in 2011, Jon expects this figure to grow to 20%.
It provides certifications including, Building Performance Institute (BPI) Certifications, Weatherization Training; the Residential Energy Services Network’s Home Energy Ratings System (RESNET HERS), the U. S. Green Building Council’s certification of LEED certifications, the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners’ Solar Certification, Corporate Sustainability, and Carbon Accounting.
Presently, it has 60 schools and trade associations as partners to provide its study material. It has a plan to provide its study material in various languages to students of China, the Middle East and Europe.
