According to Techradar, Vodafone will get the white version of Google’s last-year-launched flagship Samsung Nexus S handset in the UK when the phone appears in the channel in the coming months.
As per the Techradar report, Vodofone - which was the sole operator selling Google’s previous Nexus One handset - will be the first and the only operator to offer the white Nexus S for sale. However, there has been disclosure about either the price of the launch date of the handset.
Meanwhile, the charcoal version of the handset is also available from Carphone Warehouse as well as Best Buy, though indirectly on all leading mobile phone operators.
The key specifications of the white Nexus S include a 4-inch touchscreen; 1GHZ Cortex A8 processor, and a 5-megapixel camera with autofocus. The handset will also launch the latest ‘Gingerbread’ version of the Google Android operating system.
Despite the white exterior of the handset, the backgrounds on its OS will reportedly be black; thereby marking a change which supposedly will help enhance contrast and battery life of the phone.
Among the other additions made to the handset are a notably better downloads app and access to Near Field Communication technology (NFC). While enhanced downloads app will enables users to manage PDF and email downloads more effectively; the NFC technology will allow them to pay for goods and services with a mere swipe of their handsets over an NFC reader.
