The health Committee has called the CEO of the Belfast Trust for answers after 135 patients have been recalled by the School of Dentistry.

The patients were recalled after they had been checked by the Oral Medicine Specialist, Professor Philip Lamey who did a review of them.

There are some cases that have been recalled on an urgent basis. Some of them include cancer patients as well.

A few days ago, Michael McGimpsey, the Health Minister had launched an inquiry on a personal note regarding the events.

The man being questioned for his authenticity has shown signs that he might sue his medical director and a health trust. The man’s entire career remains at stake till the time he does not get a clean chit from school of Dentistry.

There are many a cases seen where there is a lot of harm done to the patients due to the carelessness of the doctor.

It is essential that each person takes his or her work carefully so that there is a decrease in these cases. This shall help in making the health system more safe and reliable and shall be for the benefit of the patient as well as the doctors.
