Network operator 3 has recently announced the availability of BlackBerry OS 6 for customers who are using the BlackBerry Bold 9780 and 9700, Curve 9300, and Torch 9800.
The announcement about the OS 6 update – which reportedly enhances the mentioned smartphones enough to give them a notable refresh - was made by 3 via its Twitter account.
The updated BlackBerry OS 6 allows users to view all their social networking contacts in one single location; thereby making it much easier for them to stay in touch. In addition, the update also brings along an improvement is the new webkit browser which not only perks up the Internet use, but also introduces tabbed browsing.
Moreover, universal search is also now available with OS 6 update which further improves the users’ multi-media experience with new camera modes as well as a built-in Youtube application.
The other improvements that OS 6 brings to BlackBerry handsets include better photo quality; a reworked media player; and a fresh interface that features multi-touch and kinetic scrolling. Over and above these major changes, the OS 6 also includes a number of other refinements.
The Blackberry OS 6 is now available for download by users who simply need to plug their handset into their PC to update the operating system.
