With this new study, the researchers hope that they might be able to help the cancer patients in getting rid of the disease. It is a molecule that is responsible for hampering the human body from repelling the tumors that form in it.

Roger Leng, the leader of the research group says that the name of the molecule is known as p53 and is responsible for cutting down the body’s capability to dissolve the tumors.

"I think it is a significant breakthrough," he said, adding that new drugs could be developed to stop the growth of cancerous cells now that the protein has been targeted”, he added.

He was of the view that now that the cause is known, essential steps can be taken for making the treatment system of the disease stronger and more effective.
