The Latitude XT2 is the new convertible tablet PC with touchscreen capabilities that was launched by Dell, on Tuesday. According to Dell, its new Latitude XT 2 can go on worked for up to 11 hours and 28 minutes without a recharge.
Dell reported that the Latitude XT2 uses 6-cell battery and has optional 6-cell battery slice. With 5 GB of DDR3 memory, the Latitude XT2 is equipped with the technology swifter than the older DDR2. System management and security of the Latitude XT2 is handled by the Intel's vPro technology. It is also equipped with the DuoSense driver technology, offered by Israeli firm N-trig.
Weighing 3.6 pounds with a 4-cell battery and 3.8 pounds with a six-cell power supply, the Latitude XT2 is convertible tablet PC, which means that it is equipped with a keyboard and can be used in the same way as a traditional laptop but the screen can also be pivoted round and back on itself so the touch-sensitive screen can be used as a tablet.
Having a 12-inch daylight viewable display, the Latitude XT2 is available with Dell's ControlVault and ControlPoint security software. It is available with either a 1.2 GHz or 1.4 GHz Intel Core 2 dual-core processor. It gives companies option to choose up to a 120 GB, 5400 RPM SATA hard-disk drive or up to a 128 GB solid-state drive for storage. It also offers option for a fingerprint and a smart card reader. The Latitude XT2 is available at price starting from $2,399.
