Home Depot has plans for hiring as many as for hundred part-time, seasonal, workers for its area stores in Kansas City as it gets ready for its busy spring season. The company stated that it would employ and train people in this month and in March in advance of Spring Black Friday as dubbed by the firm which is four weekends in March and April. Home Depot plans to hire more than sixty thousand seasonal workers all over the US.
The world’s largest home improvement retailer is strengthening its staff strength as it prepares for the biggest selling season of the year, March through mid-June, stated the executive vice president of merchandising of the firm, Craig Menear, in a telephone interview yesterday.
The retailer had three hundred and seventeen thousand employees, including two hundred and ninety eight thousand hourly or temporary workers, as of 31 Jan, 2010, according to an annual securities filing. About sixty one percent worked full-time.
Barkley, based in Kansas City has been named the agency of record for On the Border Mexican Grill & Cantina. Barkley will be held responsible for national creative work, brand strategy, menu design, media strategy, in-store merchandising and digital work. The account’s value was not given.
There are as many as one hundred and sixty restaurants operating on the Border, in the United States and abroad. It will begin a new national advertising campaign by this summer, according to one statement that announced the Barkley deal. Barkley recently gained the Krispy Kreme ad business.
China will have a major role in General Motors’ plans, stated the Chief Executive Daniel Akerson to a news conference in Beijing. Mentioning that China is not only the largest global market but it also is the biggest market of GM. Akerson further said that GM planned to launch more than twenty new or redesigned cars in China over the next two years.
