Lady Gaga has done it again by hitting the number one spot of the US Billboard Hot 100. The latest single titled Born This Way, has also become the 1,000th number one on the chart. Talking to the Billboard magazine about the latest news, the star said that the milestone was the greatest honour that has been bestowed upon her.

The chart had first started way back in the year 1958 and has been ranking songs ever since by analysing streaming data, radio airplay and sales.

Apart from being the 1,000th number one, Born This Way also happens to be the 19th single to hit the number one spot in the history of the US Billboard Hot 100. The song has also been able to witness 448,000 downloads in its first week alone and has set the record for the highest number of digital sales for a female artist.

Meanwhile, the famous television show Glee has hit another high by being an act with the most songs hitting the Billboard top 100 chart. It has been able to achieve this success by digitally releasing all songs after each episode.

A total of 113 tracks have been released by the show producers that have hit the Hot 100. It has been able to beat Elvis Presley’s record of 108.
