Obama discusses economic crisis with Italy's Berlusconi

Washington  - US President Barack Obama discussed the world economic crisis with Italian Prime Minister Silvo Berlusconi on Wednesday.

The two leaders discussed the upcoming G20 meeting of the world's leading economies in April in London, as well as the NATO summit scheduled for the same month in Strasbourg, France, and Kehl, Germany, the White House said. Obama plans to attend both meetings.

Obama thanked Berlusconi for Italy's support of the NATO mission in Afghanistan, the international effort to curb Iran's nuclear ambitions and the Middle East peace process. (dpa)
